Chemical constituents : Rhubarb contains number of anthaquinone derivative and their salts. The individual components of rhubarb are chrysophanol, aloe – emodin, rhein and physcion.

Uses : It is used mainly in the form of ointment in the treatment and cure of chronic eczema, psoriasis and as a potent keratolytic agent. Also used as a purgative and bitter stomachic.
